Lasers Offer a Less Invasive Treatment
Is gum disease harming your oral health and smile? Many patients require gum disease surgery, yet fear undergoing traditional procedures to treat it. But putting off treatment is never good, especially when it comes to gum disease. Traditional gum surgery involves retracting the gum tissue to gain access to deep areas of infection. Because incisions and sutures are required, healing and comfort are a delayed process. At Cornerstone Periodontics and Implants, we offer an effective alternative to traditional treatment, known as LANAP® laser gum surgery.
LANAP® Laser Gum Surgery Delivers Gentle, Minimally Invasive Care
The LANAP® protocol is a gentle, minimally invasive procedure. We use the highly specific PerioLase® MVP-7™ laser to reach deep below the gums where the infection lies. Our laser gently targets only infected gum tissue and harmful bacteria. Surrounding, healthy tissue remains completely unharmed and intact. LANAP® laser gum surgery treatment reduces inflammation up to 90 percent in a single visit. It also encourages natural healing, without the assistance of sutures. Dr. Austin Wang uses the LANAP® protocol to treat most cases of gum disease. Peri-implantitis is also effectively treated with LAPIP® (the laser gum surgery application for dental implants).
Experience a More Comfortable Return to Health
Traditional gum surgery is still a viable way to treat gum disease. However, this method does not offer the convenience and comfort of LANAP® laser gum surgery. Dr. Wang has advanced training in LANAP® treatment. Our practice has proudly provided this service since 2007. We have restored gum health to hundreds of patients, who report great satisfaction with their care.
